The State Government of Tamil Nadu has announced a special 3-month training course to the candidates who are Diploma holders in Engineering to facilitate them to obtain ‘Surveyor Licence’.

The Department of land measurements under the Tamil Nadu State Government undertakes the responsibility for conducting surveys on lands owned by private individuals/agencies. There are around 60% vacancies in various posts in this State Government Department. As such, there is an inordinate delay in taking measurements of lands. This leads to a delay in the registration of property sales deeds and various procedures in other departments as well.

In order to overcome this, the candidates with Diploma in Engineering are given training on land measurement and then, they are given the Surveyor Licence enabling them to undertake land measurements!

A notification released in this regard by the Director of the Tamil Nadu State Government Department of Land Measurements and Land Tax Planning, Selvaraj:

Applications are invited from candidates who have completed the -3-year Diploma Course in Civil Engineering from the Institutes/Polytechnics approved by the Tamil Nadu State Government Department of Technical Education to participate in the 3-month training programme facilitating to obtain the Surveyor Licence.
